This X-pipe mounts as a replacement for the original PSE. Replacing a valve exhaust with a valveless X-pipe may sound odd… not really: the resulting sound balance suits this car perfectly, and it is in fact the preferred solution for 991 phase 2 cars without PSE. On these cars, the catalytic converters fragment the sound wave so much that the muffler’s role has become minor. A simple and inexpensive solution to noticeably improve the sound.
To go one step further, this X-pipe can be combined with 200-cell sport catalytic converters: soft driving remains possible, and under acceleration the sound is worthy of the greatest naturally aspirated engines. As Jean-Michel put it: “now it’s starting to snarl”.
