This incredible example came to our Cheshire based supercar performance centre for a full-body paint protection film (PPF) installation using XPEL Ultimate Plus, and we took it through our meticulous multi-stage process to ensure the finish was flawless and fully protected.

Here is how we did it:

Step 1: Deep Wash and Surface Preparation

Every great detail starts with a thorough wash and decontamination.
We began with a pH-neutral pre-wash and contact wash to remove any loose dirt and road grime. Using the two-bucket method and soft microfibre mitts, we ensured every panel was safely cleaned without introducing swirl marks.

After rinsing and drying, we performed a chemical decontamination to remove embedded iron particles, tar, and other contaminants, followed by a clay bar treatment for a glass-smooth finish.

Step 2: Edge Cleaning and Decontamination

Before film application, our technicians meticulously cleaned every edge, badge, vent, and panel gap. Using precision tools and gentle surface cleaners, we removed any residue that could affect film adhesion.

This attention to detail ensures perfect fitment and invisible edges, which is crucial on bright, high-gloss colours like Verde Ithaca.

Step 3: Precision Fit with XPEL DAP Templates

With the surface fully prepared, we moved on to fitting XPEL Paint Protection Film (PPF). Using XPEL’s Design Access Program (DAP), we precisely pre-cut each piece of film to match the exact shape and contours of the Gallardo Performante.

This software-driven approach means no blades are ever used on the paint, preserving the integrity of the factory finish. The film itself offers self-healing technology, protecting the paint from stone chips, road debris, and swirl marks while maintaining a deep, glossy shine.

Step 4: Final Inspection and Finishing Touches

Once the film was applied, the car was left to settle before undergoing a detailed final inspection under specialist lighting. Our team checked every panel for alignment, finish, and clarity.

After a final wipe-down and light polish, the Gallardo looked sensational — and it’s now protected from everyday driving hazards for years to come.
