Wastegate pipe – Porsche 911 (964 Turbo)

The original wastegate exhaust carries a catalytic converter… which serves little purpose: a converter works on a continuous flow, while by definition a turbo’s wastegate is not permanently open. Our version is de-catalysed and delivers a playful little whistle when the turbo kicks in – which is why it is our favourite.

This pipe mounts directly between the turbo’s wastegate and the left outlet.

Fitting

• Original interfaces: direct replacement, no modification; fairly easy fitting
• Average fitting time: 30 minutes including removal (longer if the bolts are corroded)
• A lift is essential: the nuts at the wastegate are not easy to reach
• Tighten all nuts progressively
• Fitting kit included: gasket, stainless nuts, high-temperature copper grease
